UK pop singer Lily Allen is a mom for the first time! Lily Allen and her husband Sam Cooper have welcomed a baby girl into the world today. Allen married her husband Sam Cooper in June where the couple announced Lily was pregnant.
A friend told the Daily Mail that the birth was “all good” and her former boyfriend and current DJ Seb Chew tweeted, “Sending out love to lily, sam and mini cooper…YES.” I’m assuming “mini cooper” refers to the baby and not that they purchased a new car.
Earlier this morning Allen tweeted, “totes Amaze.” Not the phrase I would usually attribute to a birth, but sure, I guess it is “totes amaze.”
Allen’s new bundle of joy is a little girl, but no word yet on her name, however when she was pregnant she wouldn’t even tell her mom the sex of the baby. “‘It’s between me and my husband. She thinks she knows what it is and whenever she calls me she refers to the baby as Betty,” Lily once stated.
While a baby is always good news, unless you are Justin Bieber, this is especially great news for Lily Allen who tragically suffered two miscarriages in the past. Her first miscarriage occurred in 2008 and then again in 2010, a child she conceived with her current husband Sam Cooper.
“It was a really long battle, and I think that kind of thing changes a person,” says Allen.
The couple was grief stricken at the news of the first miscarriage and was scared to reveal the news of her third attempt at getting pregnant. Friends told the Daily Mail, “Lily and Sam are both devastated. She had kept quiet for three months until she had the scan and doctors told her everything was OK. She was, understandably, so nervous after having had a miscarriage before.”
Luckily for couple, they are the proud parents of a healthy baby girl. Back in October, Lily tweeted a photo of her hugely pregnant belly and wrote, “Me, bump, and pumpkin, I did it last night during X-Factor.”
In other Lily Allen news, the reason why she isn’t featured in T-Pain’s new video for “5 O’Clock” is because her belly was too big at the time of filming. “Lily was going to be in the video, but she’s a little bloated right now,” revealed T-Pain, “She said she didn’t really want to be in the public eye being so super-mommy fat!”
The girl in the video actually looks a lot like a pre-pregnant Lily Allen and T-Pain revealed that Allen had picked the actress to play “her.”
